This Is the F#$%ing News: My Story by Paddy Gower.

⭐⭐⭐ 3 Stars: A good book, but not a standout.
New Zealand journalist Paddy Gower’s memoir reads like a highly personal diary of a young man’s misadventures in journalism. Unfortunately, it falls short of providing the depth or new perspectives I was hoping for.
The storytelling was clipped and clunky, with many opportunities to entertain cut short. Readers are given a tour of Gower’s early career and struggles with bullying, binge drinking, and addiction. Contextual information is often lacking, which would prove challenging for anyone unfamiliar with New Zealand’s political and media environment. However, as the narrative progresses, particularly in the second half, Gower opens up and offers significantly more insight.
‘This Is the F#$%ing News’ is an enjoyable read, but not one that will leave a lasting impact.
